Background and training

I am a board-certified neurologist and neurocritical care fellow with interests in acute brain injury, multimodal monitoring, and medical education. I care for patients with life-threatening neurologic illness while studying methods that make cerebral physiology easier to understand.

My PhD work in biomedical engineering focused on medical imaging. That quantitative training continues to shape how I approach EEG, cerebral blood flow, optical monitoring, MRI, and other complex data generated in the neurocritical care unit.

I have trained and worked across institutions in the United States and Canada, with research experience spanning neuroimaging, neuroinflammation, neuroethics, oncology imaging, and even astrophysics. Those projects covered very different problems, but they left me with a lasting interest in measurement: what a signal actually represents, what conclusions it supports, and where its limitations begin.
